It is recognized that staffing allocations stand as the bedrock for the provision of Volunteers of America Oregon’s services, necessitating a transparent methodology for identifying existing, open, and new positions while aligning them with their respective funding sources. Thanks to the strategic collaboration between Volunteers of America of Oregon (VOAOR) and ProLytics Consulting, the journey toward achieving this clarity evolved into a transformative partnership. Prior to this transformation, VOAOR, the Oregon local of Volunteers of America, based in Portland, Oregon, grappled with financial obstacles rooted in decentralized data and version control issues, often referred to as ‘Excel hell.’ These challenges hindered operational efficiency and decision-making, undermining VOAOR’s holistic approach to community support. The absence of a concise financial planning and analysis (FP&A) platform further impeded their ability to streamline services effectively.
